FIVE Years Ago Today....

....I met the man of my dreams! We were set up on a blind date by two ladies that work for my dad. He called me on Thursday, January 29, 2004 and we talked on the phone while I was driving home from work. He wanted to know if he could take me to dinner on that Friday or Saturday night. I told him that I couldn't go on Friday night because my sister and I were going to see You Got Served {which to this day he still can't believe (a) that I actually admitted I was going to see that movie and (b) that he still wanted to meet me} so we settled on Saturday night. Most of you know I am a pretty shy person but for some reason I was never nervous about meeting him. Crazy! So anyway, he picked me up on Saturday night {in his silver BMW, I was driving a black BMW} and we ate at Uncle Julio's {we both LOVE Mexican food}. So far everything was just very easy. He was easy to talk to and there were never any awkward moments which you think there would be on a blind date. Not for us! After dinner we saw Master and Commander. We will never forget what movie we saw because half way through the movie they had to stop it because someone in the audience was having a heart attack! After the paramedics came and left with their patient the movie was turned back on and we finished the show. We ended our date at Logan's {a bar in Dallas} where I met a bunch of his friends. The crazy thing is that I went to high school with 2 of his friends from Trinity and one of their girlfriends {now wife}. What a small world! At the end of our date he asked me if I wanted to come to his house the next day to watch the super bowl. I said yes and he said he would call me the next day and let me know the details......
This is the first picture we ever took {what was I thinking when I did my eye make-up?!}
****
I will finish the rest of our story on another post {or two}. Stay tuned!

That is freaking hilarious that you couldn't go out with RT the night he asked because you and I were going to see You Got Served!!! Great movie though, and I'm not afraid to defend our movie choice to anyone who tries to talk trash! (RT)

Love you Sister!
