Letter of the Week - "P"

What a perfect month to study the letter "P"! We had fun this month with all of our letter "P" activities.

Letter P is for

Pumpkin, Pizza Piano, Pickle,

Pepparoni, Pretzels, Play-doh

Instead of doing our regular worksheet I decided to let Cole decorate a little Pumpkin with things that start with the letter P.

Then we did our usual craft

We made our own Pizzas for dinner one night.

Cole at a lunch full of things that started with the letter P.

Cole watched this cute movie about a thousand times.

And in addition to going to the Pumpkin patch earlier in the month with me and Mimi, Cole went on a Pumpkin hunt and did Pumpkin projects at school!

Learning about the letter P was super fun!

Letter of the Week - "D"

Now that I am starting to feel a little bit more like myself these days and because it has been ridiculously hot the past couple of weeks and we have been stuck inside, I thought it was a good time to start our letters of the week again. This week was the letter D. We had so much fun with our old and new activities.

The Letter "D" is for:

Dinosaur, Dig, Dirt, Donuts, Dragon

Duck, Dog, Dolphin, Double Dips,

Draw, Donkey

We began with our usual projects which Cole loves to do. He totally loves to color and glue.

And while we were talking about the letter "D" and working on our crafts we snacked on Dog Chow in Cole's Dog bowl. Yum! I found this mat in the $1 section at Target so we spent some time circling all the things that started with the letter "D". This activity lasted a lot longer than I thought it would. Cole just wanted to keep looking and circling! Thursday morning we went and had a breakfast Date at the Donut shop by our house! He picked out special donuts for himself and we took some more over to his buddy Cruse's house so his Mommy and I could chat and the boys could eat and play! They had so much fun that Cruse wanted Cole to spend the night....how cute! {didn't get a picture of the boys together...they were super busy}

And for lunch I made Cole a Dipping lunch! Each food had something for him to dip it in. Kids love to dip!

We built the letter "D" and worked on our Door puzzle.
And in honor of the letter "D" week, here are a few pics of all of Cole's Dogs. We really only have one but he has claimed my parent's and sister's dogs as well. He LOVES them so much!

And this is my parents 95 lb. boxer, Jake. He is Cole's favorite.

And last but certainly not least we took Cole to one of his favorite places, Double Dip! You get frozen custard there and it is to die for. I cannot blame him one bit for this being one of his favorite things!

I'd say Letter "D" week was a success! Next up: Letter "F"!

Letter of the Week - "B"

I had a little virus last week so we didn't get to do everything I had planned for the letter "B". We had fun doing what we were able to do even if it was a lot of the normal stuff.

B is for

Boy, Bee, Bug, Beach Ball, Big, Bubbles, Balloon,

Bahama Bucks, Boat, Book, Bus, Blocks, Bucket, Basketball,

Bunny, Bear, Blue, Baseball, Bowl, Bone and Buzz

For BREAKFAST I made Cole cinnamon and sugar dog BONES that he ate out of his very own dog BOWL. He thought it was so funny and ate a ton of them!

We did our normal worksheet and letter craft. We played with BUBBLES outside.
Cole built the letter B We ate our B lunch. I collected things from around the house and put them in a BIG BUCKET and had Cole pull them all out, tell me what each one was and had him say it started with the letter B.

When I was in college, one of my favorite places in Lubbock was BAHAMA BUCKS. It is flavored shaved ice and is so superior to a snow cone it's not even funny. Well, the closest one to me is in Lewisville. It's too far away to go every week, but close enough that we can go every once in a while. Because of its name I thought B week was the perfect time to go and I was in heaven! Cole on the other hand wouldn't even take a bite.....but maybe when the one coming to Frisco opens and we can go every day he will warm up to them. Seriously though...you are going to want to check Bahama Bucks out!

And lastly, we took Cole to see BUZZ, aka Toy Story 3, on Friday night and it did not disappoint! It was the best Toy Story movie by far and Cole sat in his seat mesmerized the entire time. RT and I LOVED it too! Go see it!

{Since he has been watching World Cup games with his daddy, Cole will NOT take his soccer shoes off!}

Next up....the letter "D"!

Letter of the Week - "A"

We got back into the swing of things this week with our letters. After poor effort, by me, for last weeks letter "E" we had so much more fun with the letter "A". I felt a little more inspired this week and found the letter "A" much easier to do than the letter "E"!

A is for

Apple, Airplane, Attitude, Ant

Astronaut, Arm, Ambulance, Alligator

We made homemade Applesauce! I got my baby crock pot out and let Cole put all the apples, cinnamon and sugar in himself. The house smelled amazing all day and it tasted so much better than store bought. I just might make our applesauce from scratch from now on! Click here for the super simple recipe.

We colored our Letter A worksheet and found stickers to go with it. For the first time Cole actually traced the letter and wrote his first "A"!

Then we did our Alligator craft and it turned out so cute! He was really proud of himself when he wrote another "A"! Cole went on an "A" hunt. This is usually his favorite part. He built an "A" and had a little bit of an Attitude while doing so. Cole ate a super fun lunch. He had homemade Applesauce, a Letter A sandwich, A crackers and Ants on a log. He drank Apple juice that had an ice cube shaped as the letter A in it and thought that was so neat!The only thing we didn't get to do was pretend we were Astronauts at the super cool Space Park. It was rainy and just too hot! We definitely will make the trip come fall.

I'd say we had a successful week and Cole spots "A's" everywhere we go now!
