He Is Risen

Easter 2013 was great!  What a blessing it is to know all my sins are forgiven because one man sacrificed his life and rose from the dead.  Because of Him I will spend eternity in Heaven.  I am forever grateful!  My favorite part of the day was the car ride to my parents for brunch after church.  I gave Cole a little quiz to see how much he was paying attention:
Me:  Cole, why do we celebrate Easter?
Cole:  Because Jesus died on the cross for our sins.
Me:  And then what happened?
Cole:  He rose from the dead.
Me:  And because Jesus did that, what do we get to do?
Cole: Go to Heaven.

Love him!

Now on to the Muir Family's Easter festivities!  Saturday night we painted Easter eggs.  We usually die them but the kids lose interest pretty quickly so, thanks to Pinterest, we painted our eggs and we will paint them from now on.  The kids loved it.  They were really involved and particular about how they painted them.

Then we ate dinner and I made a little Easter, last minute what I had in the pantry because I wasn't prepared, dessert.  I was annoyed with myself because it's not like I didn't know Easter was coming.  I should have had something better planned.  Oh, well.
Then the Easter bunny came and went.

Sunday morning, the kids woke up to sussies from the Easter bunny and we watched HOP {an Easter tradition}.
We met my sister's family at my parents' house after church for brunch.  The food was unbelievable!  Eggs, ham, fruit, cinnamon rolls and sticky buns and banana bread from Breadwinners, skillet potatoes and mimosas!

Then the kiddos opened their Easter baskets from my parents!
 Gray, LOVING him some M&M's!
 Cole scored $20!
And Campbell played with the handle she pulled off of my childhood Easter basket.
Because it had rained, a lot, Easter morning we stuck to the patio for our egg hunt.  The kids didn't care.  They had a blast!

Bubble time followed!  They were outside forever just blowing and popping bubbles!

 My mom and preggo sister!
Easter Sunday happened to be opening day for MLB.  We had to represent so we changed out of our Easter clothes and got comfy in our Ranger gear!
Happy Easter from the Muir Family!  We hope you had a blessed day!

Easter 2010

Easter 2010 was a pretty low-key day for the Muir family. The day began by Cole seeing what the Easter bunny left him. The Easter bunny was very good to him this year by giving him bathing suits, kites, sidewalk chalk, bubbles a super cool MAVS hat, a doctor kit and Frank from Cars. He also left Cole his very first Tricycle!

We played all morning and Cole tried to figure out how to pedal his new bike. We were unable to attend church this year because Cole has a cold and I knew they wouldn't allow his snotty nose in his classroom so we just celebrated from home. Cole decorated cupcakes and we played some more with his new toys!
We did get dressed up though and headed to my parents when church was over for a super yummy lunch followed my seeing what the Easter bunny left Cole at his Mimi K and Gramps' house.

The Easter bunny brought Cole two African Dwarf Frogs! Meet Buzz and Mars! Cole thought they were so cool and named them immediately! He would check on them throughout the day and just thought they are so neat. Our brood is growing...we've got our dog, Finn, our fish, Dan and now Buzz and Mars the frogs. I love it! Along with his frogs the Easter bunny left him some money, candy, a Cars track, Fillmore, Snot Rod and Axel from Cars, games to play outside and lots of other fun things!
Then it was outside to do some egg hunting. Cole loved this last year and he definitely loved it this year too! He is really goo at finding the eggs high and low!

After a good nap and awesome dinner Cole played one last time for the day with one of his new toys before heading home.

I'd say Easter 2010 was a success and we thank Jesus for everything he has done for us to allow us to have the wonderful life we live!

Easter 2009

We had a wonderful Easter weekend filled with family, friends, food and fun! I love Easter! I love what Easter is really about. I love that it means spring is here. I love it all! So, brace yourself for WAY TOO MANY pictures of our little man on Easter 2009!

We started the day with a visit from the Easter Bunny! He left Cole some really cool things in his basket and an EXTRA cool thing on the back patio.
Then it was off to church and then to Mimi K and Gramps' house for lunch and egg hunting. I am so excited that he had so much FUN hunting Easter eggs!

****
Thanks Daddy, Gramps and Uncle Jon for hiding eggs for me! You did such a great job and I had so much fun finding them!
After a long nap it was time to see what the Easter Bunny left Cole at Mimi K and Gramps' house and to have more fun outside with daddy and Uncle Jon!
What a fun day! This is the first holiday that Cole has really participated in. What a difference 4 months makes. During Christmas he didn't really understand what the fuss was about and wasn't really in to opening presents but he totally dug the gifts and activities yesterday! I love the holidays when there is a child around. He just makes it better!
