Cole's 1st Day of Preschool?! What?!

Well ladies and gentleman, he did it! Cole (and I) made it through his first day of preschool! I still can't believe he is old enough to be in school but he is.... and he loved it! I did have to force him to take his first day of school picture before we left the house because he was just to excited for his special breakfast. We embraced the tropical depression that was sitting on top of north Texas and left the house early so we could have a donut breakfast before school. Cole was so cute and in such a good mood. He loves donuts!

We finished up our breakfast and then headed to school. When I say it was pouring down rain I mean it was raining sooo hard and never let up which made for an interesting trip from the car to the building. Thank goodness RT was with me so he carried Cole while I carried all his gear. It was a mess but we made it to his classroom. Cole started to get a little nervous but sat down and started coloring. RT told him bye first and then it was my turn. I told him he was going to have an awesome day and that I promised to pick him up soon. I gave him a big hug and kiss and was able to keep it together until I got in the hall way, could hear him crying and then turned around to see him running after me. UGH!!! BREAK MY HEART! So by then I am bawling and he's still crying so RT came and had to take him back in his class because I just couldn't do it. I totally new he would be fine once we were gone and that he was going to have a great day but when I saw him running after me I just wanted to scoop him up and take him home.

So I spent the next five hours running a few errands in the crazy hurricane storm, ate lunch with RT and counting down the minutes until it was time for me to pick him up! I could not wait to hear about his day. He was all smiles and so excited to see me when he saw me at the door. He talked most of the way home telling me about everything thing he did and how you aren't aloud to talk during nap time. He said he made a new friend named Rusty (I will have to investigate and find out if there really is a boy by that name in his class). He was so cute and excited and it made me so happy! I asked him if he wanted to go back and he said "YES!!"

He totally crashed in the car on the way home so when he woke up from his nap I had some sussies ready for him for being a big boy and making it through his first day of school. He loved all of it, especially the cookie cake and we read the book several times yesterday!

Preschool IS going to rock this year! I am so excited about all the wonderful things he is going to learn and about spirit days and the little programs they will put on and all the parties! SO FUN! Here's hoping drop off next week goes much smoother...no rain and no tears!

Cole, mommy and daddy are so very proud of you and we can't wait to watch you grow and mature this year. How did you get so big and grown up?!? We love you to pieces!

Glad y'all survived the first day! Sounds like a great school :)
I can imagine I too will be an emotional wreck when Nora starts school next year! We are already looking for options for schools she can attend. Will you send me a message on fb and let me know what school Cole attends? And does he go one day per week or two? Thanks!
