The Muir family had an AMAZING 4th of July weekend! Despite the rainy start we had so much fun celebrating our freedom!
We kicked the celebrations off on Friday night with what I think is the All-American 4th of July meal....hot dogs, baked beans, homemade potato salad, pickles, fruit, beer and fun desserts.

Because it was pouring down rain we couldn't play outside so RT and Cole played catch inside instead!
Saturday, we woke up to not so great weather but that didn't stop us. RT's mom was in town and took care of Cole for the day while RT and I spent time eating lunch and the greatest deli by our house, running errands, seeing Knight&Day and eating dinner out. We timed everything perfectly so when we picked up Cole we were able to see our neighborhood fireworks display and I realized it was Cole's first time to actually see them! Crazy to me and I can't remember why he hadn't before but he loved them and said he wanted "more again"!
Sunday we got up bright and early and headed to Lake Texoma to spend the day and night on my parents boat. Cole had an absolute BLAST and he made some new friends and I think he has his first crush! He talks about "Ashee" all the time! He caught fish, saw turtles, had a water balloon fight, gazed into Ashley's eyes, flirted with Ashley and her sisters, Jessica and Julianne ate, went swimming with daddy, rode the jet ski with daddy, fished some more and saw about 2/3's of the firework show before passing out on the boat. I had the best time watching him play with his new girlfriends and getting so excited about all the fish he caught. It was a memorable day to say the least.
And finally, Monday we woke up at the lake, had breakfast, packed up and went to my parents for more swimming. Cole drove around in his golf cart while his daddy and uncle Jon played Frisbee. We grilled out hot dogs and just lounged around. Believe it or not I did not take a single picture. Bummer. We were exhausted by the end of the day and crashed as soon as our heads hit our pillows.
What a wonderful and memorable weekend with lots of "firsts", family, food and fun....oh yeah, and flirting!
