My Niece

My sister gave birth to her and Jon's baby girl on June 8th.  Kori and Jon are the strongest people I know.  They amaze me.  They have fought so hard for their children and I will forever be in awe of them. {For more on their history regarding having babies go here and here.}

Kori had been on bed rest for a couple of months at home (praise the Lord she was at home and not in the hospital like she was with Gray).  Then at her regular appointment last week she began dilating and had her scheduled c-section set for June 25th (37 weeks).  Two days later she was having some pain and went in to find out she was dilated a little bit more.  She was told to go home and do absolutely nothing until her new scheduled c-section on June 11th (35 weeks).  Then we got "the call" at 1:15 in the morning on Saturday, June 8th.  She was having contractions and her (and my) OBGYN didn't want to take any chances and sent her to the hospital for an emergency c-section.  So, Jon's twin,Josh, went to stay with Gray and  my dad, mom, Shannon, Randy, Nancy and I went to the hospital.

 (Our doctor in the maroon scrubs. We love her!)

We were able to see Kori and Jon and pictures of Abigail before we left the hospital around 6:00 am.  It was a long night/morning but it was totally worth the lack of sleep!  I would not have missed it for the world!

I could not love this baby girl more and I haven't been able to see her in person yet!  Besides Kori and Jon, only 4 people are allowed to go visit her in the NICU.  Naturally they picked the grandparents, but I am dying to meet her!  After she was born she only needed oxygen for a short amount of time.  She is already nursing like a champ but still needs a little help maintaining her body temperature.  She is a little fighter and Kori said she has a spunky personality!  I CANNOT WAIT to snuggle!

Aunt LaLa LOVES you baby Abigail!
